Colletotrichum infections during flower development and fruit ripening in four olive cultivars

چکیده
Olive anthracnose, caused by Colletotrichum, is an important disease in olive-growing regions, with the most destructive symptoms being fruit rot and blossom blight. Susceptibility of to Colletotrichum increases maturity, but differences between cultivars species have been reported, still information on flower susceptibility during development scarce. The olive Arbequina, Coratina, Frantoio Picual was evaluated maturity acutatum s.s., C. nymphaeae, fioriniae, theobromicola alienum. anthracnose begins early stages blossoming. Flowers Coratina were susceptible, whereas those moderately susceptible. Green developed less than mature fruit. At green stage, Arbequina intermediate, while no found among at stages. No mayor exception theobromicola, which greatest severity stage. Future research should focus developing management strategies minimize progress from ripening, especially susceptible cultivars.

Nutritional quality evaluation of four icebox cultivars of watermelon fruit during their development and ripening
Watermelon is a satiating fruit supplemented with health promoting components like sugars, antioxidants mainly lycopene, minerals etc. The biochemical composition, including antioxidants, and the specific activities of enzymes of watermelon fruit of four icebox cultivars were compared at their sequential stages of development and ripening and also an attempt has been made to determine their nut...
متن کاملAn Evaluation of the Phytochemical Properties of SomePomegranate Cultivars during Fruit Development and Ripening
The pomegranate fruit is a good source of bioactive compounds. The present study has investigated the biochemical and sensory characteristics of the arils of four Iranian commercial pomegranate cultivars namely Malase Shirine Saveh (MSS), Malase Torshe Saveh (MTS), Alak Shirine Saveh (ASS) and Agha Mohammad Ali (AMA) for several developmental and ripening stages during 45–180 days after fruit s...
متن کاملSphingolipid Distribution, Content and Gene Expression during Olive-Fruit Development and Ripening
Plant sphingolipids are involved in the building of the matrix of cell membranes and in signaling pathways of physiological processes and environmental responses. However, information regarding their role in fruit development and ripening, a plant-specific process, is unknown. The present study seeks to determine whether and, if so, how sphingolipids are involved in fleshy-fruit development and...
متن کاملMonitoring endogenous enzymes during olive fruit ripening and storage: correlation with virgin olive oil phenolic profiles.
The ability of olive endogenous enzymes β-glucosidase, polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and peroxidase (POX), to determine the phenolic profile of virgin olive oil was investigated. Olives used for oil production were stored for one month at 20 °C and 4 °C and their phenolic content and enzymatic activities were compared to those of ripening olive fruits. Phenolic and volatile profiles of the correspon...
متن کاملFruit development and ripening
Fruiting structures in the angiosperms range from completely dry to highly fleshy organs and provide many of our major crop products, including grains. In the model plant Arabidopsis, which has dry fruits, a high-level regulatory network of transcription factors controlling fruit development has been revealed. Studies on rare nonripening mutations in tomato, a model for fleshy fruits, have prov...
